After the war ended, Tamahome continued to live in the real world. Several months later, while visiting the graves of the White Tiger Priestess in Morioka with Miaka and Keisuke, a monk guide accompanying them suggested visiting the Okuda family grave (the monk also mentioned that Takiko and her father were buried there). As they approached the Okuda family grave, Tamahome suddenly vanished, guided by the voice of the Black Tortoise Priestess. When he awoke, he was shocked to find himself in the "Kingdom of Hongnan." Remembering that Hōki should still be there, Tamahome rushed to the imperial palace, but instead of Hōki, he encountered Jōshuku, the great-grandson of Seiryū. It turned out that fifty years had passed in the Kingdom of Hongnan since the war with the Kingdom of Kutō, and the Suzaku Seven Stars were no more... When Tamahome tried to enter the Suzaku Temple, he was repelled by a red light, accused of being an imposter, whipped, and thrown into the wilderness! Lost and confused, Tamahome wandered aimlessly, hoping to find Taitsukun, when he encountered a woman named Kahan holding clothes, who said to him, "Lord Nakago, I have been waiting for you for a long time"... At that moment, a blue light glowed on Tamahome's forehead, revealing the character for "heart" (心). Meanwhile, the scene shifts to Chiriko and Tasuki still bickering, when suddenly Chiriko senses Tamahome's presence... What in the world is going on...
