Months after awakening from injuries sustained in a fierce battle that claimed his squadron, Sgt. Rock is assigned a mission by Lt. Matthew Shrieve: capture a German Nazi scientist. He is given command of the top-secret Creature Commandos to assist him. The team consists of Pvt. Warren Griffith, a wolfman hybrid; Sgt. Vincent Velcoro, a vampire; and Pvt. Elliot "Lucky" Taylor, a Frankenstein-like monster. Their objective is to infiltrate a medieval castle and capture the Nazi scientist and his assistant alive. Sgt. Rock must keep his men, particularly the bloodthirsty Velcoro, in check, reminding them that "Nazi soldiers are human beings, not food" after they eliminate a German patrol near the castle.
They stealthily enter the castle and locate the scientist, only to be ambushed by Rock's archenemy, the Iron Major, triggering a battle. The assistant scientist activates a generator powering a "rumored doomsday weapon," which Lt. Shrieve had warned Rock about. Simultaneously, a loud pounding emanates from large steel doors in the laboratory. Taylor destroys the generator, causing the steel doors to burst open. Initially believing U.S. reinforcements have arrived upon seeing soldier silhouettes, Rock is horrified when the Iron Major laughs and reveals the truth: his former squad, Easy Company, has been reanimated as undead soldiers.
The Creature Commandos manage to kill five of the zombies but discover the destroyed generator was also reviving Rock's friend, Bulldozer. Bulldozer proves physically equal to Taylor, and neither Velcoro nor Griffith can stop him. Sgt. Rock seizes his Thompson submachine gun and fires a full-auto burst, blowing Bulldozer's head off and killing him.
As the laboratory catches fire, the Iron Major and the scientists attempt to flee but are cornered by Rock and the Commandos. The Major taunts Rock, claiming he won't shoot because his orders are to take them alive so the Americans can force them to build their own "army of the dead." Realizing the truth, Rock orders the Commandos to kill the Iron Major and the scientists and burn the castle along with all traces of their research.
Once outside, Rock orders the Commandos to fall in and makes a statement. He declares that Lt. Shrieve has taken them for granted and vows to do everything in his power to ensure the Creature Commandos are never deployed in such a manner again. As they move out, Rock takes a final look at the burning castle, knowing he has given Easy Company a proper cremation before departing.
