Marvel Entertainment, the American animation production company known for creating many household comic characters such as Spider-Man, X-Men, and the Avengers, is now embarking on a cross-border collaboration with the Japanese animation studio MAD HOUSE. They will release animated adaptations centered on characters from their heroic comic series one by one. This animation project is not a simple adaptation; instead, it is a Japanese-style anime that crafts entirely new storylines based on the original character designs by Marvel. The first installment, "Iron Man," will officially debut this fall.
Tony Stark is the CEO of a major weapons manufacturing company, a physicist, an engineer, and a genius inventor. One day, while testing his latest self-developed artillery shell, Tony is unexpectedly attacked by a group of terrorists. In the chaos, he is struck in the heart by shell fragments and later wakes up to find a strange device implanted in his chest—an instrument that is now sustaining his life. It turns out that Dr. Ho Yinsen, a fellow hostage, used an automotive electromagnet to hold the shrapnel inside Tony's body, saving his life. Later, Tony uses materials provided by the terrorists to build an iron armor suit, escapes successfully, and recreates another set of such iron armor. To better protect the world, Tony travels to Japan.
After arriving in Japan, Tony shares the technological achievements of Iron Man with the Japanese scientific research institute "LAB23" and announces the production of mass-produced iron armor suits. During the unveiling event for the mass-produced Iron Man suits, Tony is suddenly attacked by fighter jets from a mysterious terrorist organization called "Santiago." What are their true objectives? And what fate awaits Tony Stark?
