Adapted from the work "Fushi - Gansaku: Satomi Hakkenden" by Japanese novelist Kazuki Sakuraba, the animated film "Fushi: The Iron Gun Girl's Hunting Ledger" will be released this fall.
Published in November 2010 by Bungeishunju Ltd., "Fushi - Gansaku: Satomi Hakkenden" (the Chinese version is distributed by Kadokawa Taiwan) takes the famous "Satomi Hakkenden" as its inspiration. A group of outlaws known as "Fushi" frequently commit heinous crimes in Edo. A young but highly skilled huntress named "Hamaji," along with her wandering brother Dōsetsu, hunts these dog-like humans called "Fushi." Suspiciously trailing behind this young girl is the son of Takizawa Bakin, the author of "Nansō Satomi Hakkenden." While pursuing one of the Fushi, Hamaji becomes lost in the underground waterways of Edo. This is a story of hunting and being hunted...
Kazuki Sakuraba has previously published many award-winning and well-received works such as "A Profession Unsuitable for a Young Lady," "A Lollypop or A Bullet," and "The Legend of the Scarlet Fallen Leaves." She won the 138th Naoki Prize for her work "My Man," and her series "GOSICK" has also been adapted into a television anime.
