The second part of the two-part theatrical film adaptation of the "Dead Moon" arc (the fourth story arc of the original manga), marking the first "Sailor Moon" movie in 25 years since the TV anime adaptation of Naoko Takeuchi's popular manga became a massive hit. With Naoko Takeuchi serving as executive supervisor, director Chiaki Kon (who also directed the third season of "Sailor Moon Crystal," the "Death Busters" arc) returns, and character designs are handled by Kazuko Tadano, who served as character designer and animation director for both "Sailor Moon" and "Sailor Moon R." As the century's largest total solar eclipse approaches, Usagi and Chibiusa are asked for help by Pegasus Helios, who is searching for the "Maiden" who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal. The story portrays Chibiusa and Helios's tender first love, as well as the Sailor Guardians growing—struggling and hesitating—both as warriors and as individuals. Popular voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voices Helios, while comedian Naomi Watanabe and actress Nanao guest star as voice actors.
