The anime depicts the anguish and fateful battles of Uchū Ōji, the divine child born of humans. Adapted from the manga of the same name by Fujikawa Keisuke, the screenplay is written by Tomita Yasuhiro ("Bikkuriman: The Treasure of Muen Zone"), Terada Kenji ("Kimagure Orange Road: I Want to Return to That Day"), and Takegami Junki ("Gegege no Kitarō: Clash!! The Great Rebellion of the Dimensional Yokai"). Directed by Yoshida Kenji ("Seagull, Have You Seen the Shining Sea? Reunion"), with cinematography by Kuroki Keishichi. The theme song is performed by Da Capo ("Dream Hunter").
