On a clear day, the big dog Spike is happily doing laundry in the yard... wait, no! What he's washing is... his beloved son Tyke! Spike places his freshly cleaned son on the porch and heads out to buy vitamins. Just then, the feuding duo Tom and Jerry come storming from inside the house to the yard, and poor Tyke inevitably gets caught in the crossfire, ending up covered in mud. Spike is furious and orders the culprit, Tom, to give his son another bath and keep a close eye on him. Forced by authority, Tom takes on the responsibility of looking after Tyke. The mischievous Jerry seizes this chance to stir up trouble for his rival, constantly provoking Tom and dirtying Tyke whenever possible. The unlucky Tom has to both chase away the little mouse and clean Tyke at the same time. In the midst of all this chaos, the formidable Spike returns...
