After being sent back to the human world by Bagura, Kudo Taiki and Shoutmon, following the great battle in Tokyo, stayed in the human world for just one day. Meanwhile, in the Digital World, several months had passed, and it had fallen into a hellish world dominated by the Bagura Army, split into seven lands ruled by seven Death Generals under Bagura's command. These seven Death Generals are the main enemies of this arc. To restore peace to the Digital World, Kudo Taiki and Shoutmon decide to return to the perilous Digital World once more. Additionally, this arc introduces a new power known as "Super Evolution."
