Four years ago, a meteorite fell into the polar region, giving birth to the DNA Pokémon—Deoxys. The Sky Pokémon Rayquaza, which resides in the atmosphere, perceived Deoxys as invading its territory, leading to a fierce battle between the two. In the end, Rayquaza defeated Deoxys, and Deoxys's core sank into the sea. Dr. Lund, along with his assistant Yuko and his son Tory, happened to be conducting research in the area and witnessed everything. They took away another Deoxys core that remained inside the meteorite and had not yet revived. Since then, Tory has become deeply afraid of Pokémon. Four years later, Ash and his friends visit the high-tech city of LaRousse, where Tory lives, to challenge the Battle Tower. By a twist of fate, Tory is mistaken for a challenger and sent into the arena alongside Ash. At the same time, Deoxys fully regenerates and, following the signals emitted by its companion, arrives in LaRousse City. A great battle between the two sides is about to erupt...
