On an incredibly dull day, the mischievous Tom ties up the little mouse Jerry, places an apple on his head, and positions him on the opposite cabinet for a game of darts. Tom tries all sorts of tricks, thoroughly enjoying himself, unaware that Jerry is drenched in sweat, nearly scared out of his wits. Just then, a telegram slips through the door crack, informing Tom that he has inherited a fortune of one million dollars from his eccentric Aunt Harriet. At first, Tom doesn’t quite grasp it, but after reading the telegram again, he excitedly starts doing somersaults around the room. The bewildered Jerry steps forward and reads the telegram too, then joins Tom in a frenzy of somersaults. It turns out there’s an additional clause in the will: Tom must absolutely not harm any living creature—not even a mouse. After this, news of the millionaire cat dominates the headlines of major newspapers. Tom proudly moves into a luxurious apartment on Park Avenue in New York, and of course, his old rival Jerry also rises to fortune alongside him.
Bound by the clause in the will, Tom has no choice but to endure Jerry’s various audacious antics...
