It's yet another New Year's Eve. The small town is blanketed by heavy snowfall, with streets and buildings draped in silver, exceptionally beautiful. Pluto (voiced by Gus Wickie) and Popeye the Sailor (voiced by Jack Mercer) are, for once, not fighting. Wearing top hats and tailcoats, they drive a reindeer-drawn sleigh, singing joyfully as they travel. They are on their way to Olive Oyl's (voiced by Mae Questel) house to invite her to the New Year's dance. Arriving at the door, Olive's hard-of-hearing grandmother answers. After a moment, Olive appears at the staircase in her evening gown. Just as they are about to leave, Popeye suddenly stops. Unwilling to leave Grandma alone at home on New Year's Eve, he helps her get dressed, and the four set off together. As the evening lights begin to glow, the New Year's dance commences...
