In 1983, the Japanese Science Fiction Convention was once again held in Osaka. This was the fourth SF convention in Osaka, "DAICON4." The operation of this DAICON4 was also entrusted to them. For the "DAICON4 Opening Animation," professional animators such as Ichiro Itano, Toshihiro Hirano, and Narumi Kakinouchi, who were affiliated with the animation production company Artland, provided their assistance. Additionally, Mahiro Maeda, who hailed from the same hometown as Takami Akai, and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Maeda's senior from university, joined DAICON FILM. Here, the core members who would later form Gainax were assembled. In 2005, the television drama "Densha Otoko" featured animation footage (from "Tsukiuta Rabbit Weapon Mina") in its opening sequence, which was rare for a live-action drama. The Electric Light Orchestra's song "Twilight" was used, making it an homage to the "DAICON4 Opening Animation."
