In episode 8 "Reunion" of the second season of the anime adaptation of Nihei's other work, "Knights of Sidonia," titled "Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine," a short anime (approximately 40 seconds) named "BLAME! Terminal Ruin City" was broadcast as an in-universe movie within the show (first aired on the earliest broadcasting station, TBS, from 1:55 AM on May 30, 2015. For other stations, refer to Knights of Sidonia#Broadcast stations). Similar to "Sidonia~," it is rendered in 3DCG animation.
