"Harbor Light Story ~From Fashion Lala~" is an OVA adaptation of "Magical Designer Fashion Lala," released on VHS on March 11, 1988, and on LaserDisc on May 21. The story has been significantly altered, now resembling the fairy tale "Cinderella," where a bullied girl named Miho transforms into an adult for just one night with the help of the fairies Pig and Mog, who emerge from a book. 　In a certain harbor town, a disco dance festival is being planned to select the Dance Queen from among the local girls. The protagonist, Miho, dreams of becoming a fashion designer and creating dresses of various designs. She is overjoyed when her cousin Shuri decides to wear a dress Miho designed to participate in the upcoming Dance Queen contest. However, the troublemaker Kid, the mayor's son, appears and attempts to sabotage the festival. To make matters worse, Miho's aunt tears apart the dress she designed. As Miho breaks down in tears, the fairies Pig and Mog use their magic to transform her into Fashion Lala.
