Based on the original work by Tanihiko Yuki, who is also famous as a marine adventure novelist, this is an OVA adaptation of the occult horror period novel "Shinshu Chimi Ihen: Kantsuki Itto Akuryo Giri". The time is the Genroku era of Edo. Kantsuki Itto, a young picture book author and master of a brilliant iron fan technique, enjoys a performance by the famed Edo illusionist, Tasogare Insai. However, on his way home, Itto rescues a woman from being attacked by a ronin. From a single tarot card given to him at that moment, he becomes entangled in further incidents. What is the truth behind the series of mysterious disappearances of young maidens unfolding before Itto's eyes...? The original work for this title is a spin-off from the same author's period horror action series "Shinshu Chimi Hen". The main series has also been adapted into an OVA by the same studio, Magic Bus. This "Kantsuki Itto Akuryo Giri" is an occult detective action story featuring Itto, a popular supporting character from the main series, as the protagonist.
