Naoko is a lively and precocious girl living in the downtown area. Because her sickly older brother, Masahiro, often receives preferential treatment from their mother, she sometimes fantasizes that she might be an adopted child. One day, Naoko strives hard to help her favorite aunt, Yokko, succeed in an arranged marriage meeting. This is a short film adaptation of Yamada Kuniko's semi-autobiographical essay "Ikka Ranran," published in 1993, released as part of "Kin-chan's Cinema Jack." The narration is also provided by Yamada herself.
