The ninth installment in the theatrical series featuring the popular character "Shimajiro" from Benesse Corporation's early childhood correspondence education program "Kodomo Challenge." One day, Pearl, the prince of the Kirakira Kingdom, arrives at Challenge Island. Pearl has run away from his kingdom to escape the pressures of living up to the expectations placed on him as the future king. However, during Pearl's absence, a grave crisis occurs in the kingdom: the precious "Kirakira" has been lost. To save the kingdom from peril, Shimajiro and his friends embark on an adventure alongside Pearl, who lacks confidence in himself. Pearl is voiced by Yuna Mimura, his attendants Colon and Maron are voiced by Junichi Suwabe and Hiro Shimono respectively, and Emerald, Pearl's mother and the queen of the Kirakira Kingdom, is voiced by Shoko Nakagawa, who also performs the theme song. For young children experiencing a movie in a theater for the first time, the approximately 60-minute runtime includes an intermission, as well as interactive elements such as pointing, clapping, and striking poses together.
