An anime adaptation of the 19th-century children's literature "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by British author Lewis Carroll, produced as a joint German-Japanese production. The animation was produced by Nippon Animation, with direction by Takashi Sugiyama, known for films such as "Phoenix 2772." It also drew attention for having veteran animator Kōji Mori serve as layout supervisor. One summer day, a seven-year-old girl named Alice encounters a strange white rabbit wearing clothes and carrying a pocket watch. Intrigued by the rabbit, Alice follows it and eventually tumbles down a peculiar hole into a fantastical world. There, she meets various creatures, including the March Hare, who is always having a tea party. The character designs for this work were a collaborative effort between overseas animator Marty Murphy and Japanese animator Isamu Kumada.
