That life—is it justice, or death? 2199, Japan. Beyond the great wall separating the cities where people live lies a land unrecognized as a nation—"Outside the Wall." There, a 17-year-old girl named Matsuri spends her days gazing at the scenery buried in trash, her resentment toward the father who abandoned her growing stronger by the day. On one such uneventful day, she discovers a man buried in a trash heap near the wall. The man introduces himself as Eisen and presses Matsuri, asking if she knows about the "Key."
