A work in the remake series of the classic anime "Space Battleship Yamato," this is Chapter 2 of a 7-chapter (26-episode total) reimagining and restructuring of the 1980 theatrical anime "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato" with a new interpretation. Desarium's colossal mobile fortress, Grand Reverse, has finally landed in the Shinato Bay Area. Skuldart, the Holy President of the Desarium forces who conquered Earth in a single night, addresses Earth's people, explaining their 1,000-year history with the words, "We are you." Astonishingly, they are not enemies; they were searching for the "Fragment of Iscandar" to change Earth's future, which was heading toward ruin. Meanwhile, the former Yamato fleet crew reaches the Icarus Observatory, where the new Space Battleship Yamato awaits. Susumu Kodai, having lost his beloved woman, Yuki Mori, is too despondent to assume command. However, Yuki is being cared for by Desarium's Major Alfon. Novelist Harutoshi Fukui, who has handled the scripts and series composition for this remake series, serves as Chief Director, Series Composition Writer, and Scriptwriter.
