The first chapter of the second season of "Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These," a new anime adaptation by Production I.G of the bestselling epic sci-fi novel by author Yoshiki Tanaka, which has been adapted into anime in the past. Following the first season "Encounter" (Episodes 1-12), which aired in 2018, the second season "Stellar War" (Episodes 13-24) will be released in theaters in three chapters, each comprising four episodes, for a total of twelve episodes. In Cosmic Year 796 (Imperial Year 487), the Free Planets Alliance's expeditionary force, mobilizing 30 million officers and soldiers, engages in battle with the massive fleet led by Reinhard, who has become the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Galactic Empire's Space Fleet. Despite suffering heavy losses, the Alliance gathers its remaining forces and continues the fight. A large-scale fleet battle, later known as the "Battle of the Amritsar Starzone," unfolds. Meanwhile, in the Galactic Empire, Emperor Friedrich IV dies suddenly without naming a successor, sparking a power struggle among the noble families within the Empire. At the same time, a large-scale military coup is about to erupt within the Free Planets Alliance.
