"Horizon Blue," based on the manga by Kondo Yoko (published by Seirinkogeisha), is adapted into an experimental magic lantern-style film. 　　 Incorporating testimonies from 20 individuals across generations, it explores issues such as a stifling society, cycles of violence, and parental control over children. 　　 Set in Tokyo in 1990, the film depicts the intricate human dynamics triggered by child abuse with a documentary-like touch. This work is the culmination of the director’s 24 years of independent production, a hard-won achievement.
