Miyu, as the eternal 14-year-old Watcher, frequently transfers schools across the country to seek out Shinma and send them back to the world of darkness. The Shinma, in turn, attack Miyu in attempts to defeat the Watcher and gain prestige among their own kind, ensuring that Miyu's days of battle never cease. One day, after transferring to Tokiwa Girls' Academy, Miyu is approached by a girl named Chisato, who invites her to join her group for a holiday stroll through the city. Chisato explains, "You looked lonely, so I wanted to talk to you," and Miyu feels a fondness for her. The two purchase friendship icons and pledge eternal friendship to each other. Meanwhile, Miyu continues to send the Shinma lurking around Tokiwa Girls' Academy one after another back to the dark world. However, she wears a sorrowful expression as she witnesses weak infants and kind-hearted girls her own age falling prey to Shinma and having their fates twisted. As strange incidents multiply following Miyu's transfer, her classmates begin to grow suspicious of her true nature. At that time, a man returns from the northern lands. Miyu senses something ominous about him. Yet, she remains unaware that this marks the beginning of a certain plan directed at her. Eventually, the time ripens, and the awakened "Strongest Shinma" launches an attack on Miyu.
