The shuttle carrying Chirico and Fiana, who escaped from Kummen, was taken aboard an unmanned battleship by an unknown party. Inside Battleship X, as the two enjoy a moment of respite, the Red Shoulder March begins to play. Forced to confront his own past, Chirico's mind begins to unravel. 　Eventually, on the planet Sunsa where Battleship X made an emergency landing, an AT unit led by Epsilon closes in. Chirico and Fiana escape by causing Battleship X to explode and reunite with Gotho and the others, taking shelter with them at the hideout of a recycled weapons dealer. However, as attacks by Team Epsilon and the Balarant Army commence, Chirico is separated from Gotho and the others. To secure jijirium, he heads for a supply base left behind by the Balarant Army, carrying Fiana on his back as he traverses the wilderness. Following him is Zophie, who holds feelings of both gratitude and resentment toward Chirico.
