"Welcome Home, My Hometown Karatsu" is a coming-of-age story that depicts a high school boy from Karatsu City who, after aspiring to become a professional soccer player and facing setbacks, struggles and suffers but ultimately takes a new step forward. The role of the protagonist, Aoi Sora, is played by Kappei Yamaguchi, while the role of his mother, Aoi Miyoko, is played by Kotono Mitsuishi. The ending theme is performed by singer Sayaka Matsutani, who is from Saga Prefecture.
