This oceanic adventure anime is based on an original work by Jiro Hattori, who handled music direction and selection for other works by the Masaoka Research Institute. The visual design of the main duo from the neck down closely resembles Disney's Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, showcasing Masaoka's playful spirit. A sequel, *Ta-chan's Monster Extermination*, was also produced in 1935.
