The first OVA adaptation of the popular manga by shojo artist Takaguchi Risumi, a hit series that was also adapted into a live-action TV drama and film. 　　 The all-girl delinquent organization known as the "All-Middle-School Underground"—or "Zen-Chū-Ura" for short—has marked former executive member and current lone wolf Asuka Kuraku as a person of interest. Amid rising tensions, a conflict erupts between the Zen-Chū-Ura and the Kantō region's largest bōsōzoku gang, the "Oni Tribe." But behind this clash lies the scheme of Beni, a Zen-Chū-Ura executive with a grudge against Asuka, who aims to crush her once and for all. 　　 Produced before the live-action TV series and film (both released in 1988), this first OVA captures the atmosphere of the original manga far more closely than the subsequent live-action adaptations. It was animated by Toei Animation (at the time called Toei Dōga) and directed by Umetsu Atsutoshi, who also served as series director for the TV anime *Kamikaze Kaitō Jeanne*.
