Based on the original manga by Shotaro Ishinomori serialized in "Shonen King," this feature-length animated film was scripted by Takashi Iijima of "Wanwan Chushingura," with additional scripting and direction by Yugo Serikawa of "Wanpaku Ouji no Orochi Taiji." Cinematography was handled by Sanki Hirao of "Wolf Boy Ken: The Timid Lion." Voice actors include Machiko Soga from "Obake no Q-taro," among others. Dr. Gilmore, the head of the research institute for the B.G. (Black Ghost) organization based on Ghost Island, created a terrifying new invention: the Cyborgs, or modified humans. Fearing they would be misused by the B.G., the doctor escaped Ghost Island with the cyborgs, numbered 001 through 009. There is 001, a Russian infant with ten times the intelligence; 002, an American who can fly faster than a jet; 003, a French girl with super-sensitive hearing and vision; 004, a German with weapons concealed throughout his body; 005, a Native American with the strength of 200,000 horsepower; 006, a Chinese man who can emit a 7,000-degree heat ray from his mouth; 007, a British boy who can transform into anything; 008, an African who can swim freely underwater; and finally, 009, a Japanese racer with all-around abilities. The cyborgs bravely fought against the terrifying scientific weapons of Beagle, the B.G.'s deputy leader who pursued them, and hid themselves in the doctor's secret research base, Green Coral Reef. However, their location was discovered by the B.G.'s reconnaissance "TV Bugs," and to make matters worse, 003 was taken prisoner. To rescue 003, 009 infiltrated the B.G.'s secret base with 006 and 007. Using 007's special ninjutsu skills to throw the B.G. into great confusion, 009 managed to rescue 003. Pushing deeper inside, 009 confronted the leader of the B.G., the Electronic Brain. Though armed with the pinnacle of scientific weaponry, the leader was defeated by 009's powerful heat-ray gun. At that moment, the base's structures began exploding one after another. Escaping by speedboat at the last second, the cyborgs looked back to see the island being blown apart with a tremendous roar by a hydrogen bomb the leader had set. Eventually, praying that Earth would remain peaceful forever, the cyborgs each returned to their own homelands.
