I am a thief.
Throughout all ages, many kinds of thieves have existed, but I am a little different from them.
I do not steal money. I have no interest whatsoever in antiques, jewels, or other valuable works of art.
I am a thief who steals sound.
"Haru hisagi" is a euphemism for prostitution. Here, it functions as a metaphor for "music as a commodity."
Don't you think it's sad? Even more foolish than real prostitution. For the sake of living, we shave away our pride, choose themes that cater to the masses, search for pop melodies. We create beautifully worded, easily understandable works. We cheaply sell ourselves—output into the form of music—to all of you like this.
I call it "Haru hisagi."
