"Jung" is a post-Korean War orphan, fortunate enough to be adopted by a Belgian family. He gradually assimilates into the local culture, almost forgetting his Korean roots. Yet, despite living in Western society, Jung struggles to find a sense of identity in the white world—even going so far as to think of himself as Japanese. His increasingly strained family relationships further deepen his doubts about his own identity.
