In the bustling, noisy streets of a metropolis, as night falls, crowds throng the alleys and corners. The feuding duo, Tom and Jerry, weave through the crowd, launching a new round of chase. Dodging speeding wheels and the dense footsteps of pedestrians, Jerry panics and darts straight into a nearby theater. At that moment, the famous opera "Carmen" is about to begin. Under the dazzling lights at the theater entrance, people file in one after another, creating a lively scene. Tom follows in pursuit but is thrown out by the staff at the door. After several attempts, he finally manages to sneak into the theater disguised as a musician carrying a cello. Tom tiptoes to a seat in the center of the stage—it turns out the cello case holds a small violin, inside which lies a tape recorder that can smoothly "play" the melody of Carmen.
