What a wonderful night. The big dog Spike and the gluttonous cat Tom are peacefully minding their own business, each busy preparing their lavish dinners in the kitchen. Since their owners have plenty of money, the two little ones spare no ingredients, indulging in a feast and enjoying themselves to the fullest. Just then, complaints and arguments can be heard from the owners' room. The husband is troubled by the mountain-high bills, complaining that the wife spends too much, while the wife argues that the money is all spent on cat and dog food. To cut expenses, the husband decides to give away either the cat or the dog, and the choice of which one becomes the focus of their argument. Finally, they reach an agreement: whoever catches the troublemaker Jerry first gets to stay. Tom and Spike go all out for this... 　　This film is the first short in the Tom and Jerry series to be produced using CinemaScope technology. From this installment onward, Tom's owners change from a Black woman to a white couple.
