As spring departs and autumn arrives, the northern geese fly south, and the desolate season once again nurtures new hope. The wild duck family also forms a line, heading toward the warm south. At the end of the line, a newly hatched little wild duck flaps its wings with all its might, closely following its family and friends. Suddenly, sharp gunshots echo from below them. Greedy Tom hides in the grass, firing into the sky, ready to bring down a wild duck for a feast. One shot hits the little wild duck's wing. Though he tries to keep up with his companions, he ultimately falls helplessly. He slowly lands beside a large tree on the farm. Little mouse Jerry hears the commotion and emerges from his hole. Seeing Tom charging over, Jerry quickly pushes the little wild duck into the hole and tends to his wounds with care. However, this little duck is too impatient and fails to learn from his mistakes. Before his injury has fully healed, he insists on rushing out to catch up with his companions, repeatedly falling into Tom's traps...
