On a peaceful night, Tom leans back on the sofa, enjoying beautiful music, occasionally disciplining Jerry, who is wreaking havoc in the kitchen and frantically hauling food from the refrigerator. After finally dealing with that mischievous little fellow, he hears a terrifying announcement from the radio: a ferocious lion has escaped from the circus and is roaming the town. Tom is so frightened that he quickly secures all the doors and windows, clutching a shotgun as he waits in a corner. Meanwhile, Jerry discovers the lion hiding in the basement. The lion, tired of the circus’s noisy music and popcorn sounds, longs to return to its home in Africa and asks Jerry to help it get some food.
