This film tells the story of Akira, a girl formed by the fusion of the cosmic energy "Taishu" and a toy girl inside an underwater crystal ball, as she journeys through time and space. Akira gains friendship after saving a human girl who fell into the water, but the very next day, war breaks out, forcing her to witness the city reduced to ruins and her own energy form forcibly disintegrated. In search of her lost friend, she travels across different timelines, experiencing firsthand the collapse of civilizations, the struggles of humanity, and the bonds of emotion under the ravages of war. From the scars of conflict between races to the battle between technology and human nature, Akira gradually comes to understand that human emotions and memories are both fragile and an eternal force that transcends time and space. Ultimately, she reconstructs the destroyed temporal nodes in her energy form, elevating the promise of friendship into a redemption against the fate of war. This film brings together four masters from the Chinese and Japanese animation industries, achieving a cross-border fusion of diverse artistic styles: it continues the creative path of Li Wei's team in "Jiang Ziya" in reconstructing the Fengshen universe, while infusing the cross-genre narrative tension that Shinichirō Watanabe excels at in "Cowboy Bebop." The war-torn timelines employ the distinctive mechanical ruin aesthetics of Shūhei Morita from "Tsukumo," and Weng Ming introduces the literary quality of European animation, balancing Japanese passion with Chinese philosophical thought. From CG to hand-drawn animation, the four directors weave together the intricately connected "Taishu" universe with their unique styles, promising a magnificent, wondrous, and refreshing cinematic animation feast.
