The protagonists Olly and Bess are two young research submarines who never follow the rules and often play pranks. Under the guidance of their human supervisor, "Deep-Sea Driver" Doug, they explore the underwater world and uncover many previously unknown, fascinating secrets. While carrying out their missions, they often get distracted by all sorts of adventures, but they also ask questions and learn lessons from each experience, growing happily along the way.
