In August 1927, the Nanchang Uprising forces moved to Ruijin, sowing the seeds of revolution there. Under the guidance of his teacher Li Hansheng, student Fugui joins the Red Army and becomes a member of the Communist Party. Changsuo, a cowherd who has known Fugui since childhood, enthusiastically enlists in the Red Army to protect the hard-won achievements of the revolution. At the Central Red Hospital, Fugui and Changsuo break free from feudal constraints and help the female nurse Honggu resolve an arranged marriage issue. Fugui’s classmate Chen Shi, who is in the Nationalist camp, decides to abandon the darkness for the light after being inspired by Fugui’s revolutionary ideals, secretly becoming an underground Party member. Fugui, Changsuo, Honggu, Chen Shi, and their revolutionary comrades actively participate in the construction of the Chinese Soviet Republic, devoting themselves wholeheartedly to the tide of revolution.
