The maid Ping'er follows the old woman in caring for the world's last two dragons within a high tower. After one dragon dies, Ping'er discovers a dragon egg, but it is known as the Pearl of Wisdom and is taken away to be offered to the emperor for healing. To retrieve the dragon egg, Ping'er rescues the last dragon, Danzi, and embarks on an adventure together with it.
