"Yard with a Loquat Tree" - Beijing Film Academy 2018 Graduation Project Director: Huang Simeng Sound Recording/Original Music: Wang Jian'an This graduation project from two years ago—figured it's about time to release it. Looking back after two years, completely detached and viewing it as an audience member, I’d say it’s full of issues () But I also appreciate the free, relaxed vibe from rushing through it without time to fuss over details. To finish it quickly, I cut the plot three times, leaving it incomplete and too lazy to fill the gaps, so there’s hardly any story… Later, rather than trying to present a story, it became more about showcasing garden scenery and a way of life (forcing it a bit). Back then, I even visited several gardens in Suzhou for filming (and took a little trip along the way). It’s kind of like my first child. So, I’m putting it out here as a keepsake.
