In the year 20XX, the evil scientist Dr. Wily attempts to conquer the world using robots. Upon learning of this, the household robot Rock requests his master, the peace-loving Dr. Light, to modify him into a combat robot. After undergoing modifications, Rock becomes the combat robot Mega Man and begins his battle against the robots created by Dr. Wily.
