This is a bustling, noisy metropolis. Cars flow like water, crowds surge, and the clamor never ceases—there is no quiet corner to be found. Beneath an overpass stands a canning factory billowing thick smoke. Workers line up on the assembly line, day after day, year after year, performing monotonous and tedious tasks. At 18:30, the shift-ending bell rings, the assembly line halts, and a bearded man named Amond tidies up, leaves the factory, takes the tram back to his apartment. He waters his plants, then opens the cupboard, pulling out a can for dinner. Unexpectedly, a plump genie pops out. Before speaking, the genie bursts into song.
