On the bustling city streets, a boy who seemed out of place in this world quietly stared at a painting of a sika deer displayed in a shop window. Later, he entered the store and discovered it was a shop selling hunting rifles, where the owner was enthusiastically introducing a particular rifle to a customer. The boy looked over the items on display one by one, until his gaze settled on a painting: beneath a bare, leafless tree, a hunter stood with his foot on a lion he had just shot, holding a rifle and grinning triumphantly at the viewer. The boy froze. In his imagination, he saw himself carrying a rifle into the forest, encountering all kinds of animals, each living freely in their own world. Moved by everything he saw, a happy smile spread across his face. Suddenly, he froze again—under a bare, leafless tree, a hunter was aiming his rifle at a lion, completely unaware of the danger. The boy raised his own rifle. The film uses music by Bach.
