The story takes place in the town of Whoville, where everyone enthusiastically welcomes the arrival of Christmas—except for the Grinch, who lives in the north and despises the entire holiday season. So, he devises a plan to stop Christmas from coming. On the night before Christmas Eve, he disguises himself as Santa Claus and sneaks into Whoville. While everyone is fast asleep, he steals all the decorations, gifts, toys, food, and everything else associated with Christmas. Expecting the townspeople to be heartbroken and in tears, he is surprised to find them still singing and celebrating. It is then that the Grinch realizes the true meaning of Christmas: as long as we hold kindness in our hearts, Christmas will always be ours.
