"i-wish you were here-" (Japanese: i-wish you were here-あなたがここにいてほしい) is an ONA series produced by GONZO, consisting of four episodes. The anime was first released online in Japan in October 2001, followed by a DVD release in February 2002. ADV Films licensed and distributed the North American version in 2003, while Madman Entertainment acquired the DVD distribution rights for Australia in 2006. Additionally, this series aired on Hong Kong's TVB in 2004. The story is set in the near future, four years after Earth was struck by a meteorite. A space virus carried by the meteorite can transform infected humans into monsters. The protagonist, Yuji Tamiya, and his unit fight to protect the remaining uninfected humans from the threat.
