Zhang Jian established China’s first textile vocational school, pioneering higher education in textile engineering in China. He also created the first cotton textile raw material supply base, working on cotton improvement and the promotion of cotton cultivation. Using his hometown as a base, he diligently practiced the development of modern textile industries, making significant contributions to the growth and strengthening of China’s national textile industry.
