In a pastoral countryside village, birds sing and flowers bloom. Like many families from the last century, inside a small house surrounded by green grass and blossoms, a lovely little girl lives with her grandparents. The grandfather is kind and quiet, leading an exceedingly simple daily life—tending to his flowers and plants, reading books and newspapers during the day, and in the evenings, sitting with his wife in front of the television to watch dramas, while peeling an apple to hand to her. The next day, golden sunlight spills across the courtyard, and the grandfather gazes joyfully at his flowers and plants. During the sunny seasons, the elderly couple takes their granddaughter on outings to the countryside, playing leisurely and moving melodies on the harmonica, while the chorus of frogs and fireflies keeps them company at night. Before long, a letter from afar calls the grandfather back to his hometown. Grandmother and the granddaughter continue their peaceful life, yet each torn-off page of the calendar carries their longing and anticipation for the one far away…
