The forest, under the care of birds like woodpeckers, thrives with vibrant life, leaving pests no opportunity to invade. A child, armed with a slingshot, shoots down the birds, and their beautiful fallen feathers become decorations on his hat, while the poor birds become his caged captives. In a dream, the child sees himself being shot down from the sky like a bird, but upon waking, he only adds a heavy lock to the birdcage. 　　The child goes out again to hunt birds. With no natural predators left, swarms of pests invade his home. The woodpeckers and other birds, trapped in their cages, are powerless to help and can only watch helplessly as the pests slowly devour the child's home.
