Young hunter Xiaogang, from the northern frontier of the motherland, inherits the bow and arrow his grandfather used to fight against the old Tsar. Fueled by a deep hatred for the new Tsar, he hones his skills to perfection. Together with his classmates, he assists the militia in capturing Zhang San, a hidden spy who stole border defense intelligence, and later uncovers the trail of "Polar Bear," a spy dispatched by social imperialism. In order to apprehend "Polar Bear," Xiaogang volunteers to deliver a message for the militia. On his way back, he encounters "Polar Bear" and cleverly lures the enemy into a trap set by the hunting team. At this tense moment, a black bear searching for food charges toward Xiaogang.
