This art film is an ink-wash animation. 　　 On a scorching summer day, a group of little monkeys tirelessly leap and play among several trees on the mountain, thoroughly enjoying themselves. An old man, wearing a straw hat on his head and carrying one on his back, with two wine gourds hanging from his chest, trudges wearily up the mountain. Spotting a large patch of shade, he quickly stops to rest and soon drifts into a dream. The little monkeys examine the old man curiously and take an interest in the straw hat and wine gourds he casually left on the ground. After managing to snatch the straw hat and just as they are about to go for the wine gourds, the old man wakes up. Furious, the old man is determined to retrieve his straw hat so he can quickly cross Monkey Mountain, but the little monkeys refuse to give it back. Noticing that the monkeys keep imitating his every move, the old man comes up with a clever plan.
