Three mischievous kittens have lost their mittens, and their mother punishes them by sending them to bed without supper. The hungry little ones cannot sleep, gazing at the Milky Way and imagining it as an endless supply of milk and cheese. Balloons carry them up into the sky, gradually drifting away from Earth. After numerous hardships and dangers, they finally arrive at the Milky Way. Here, cheese piles up like mountains, and milk flows endlessly like springs. The long-starved kittens dive into this paradise and enjoy a lavish feast. 　　 Their mother opens the door, interrupting the kittens' wonderful dream. They follow her excitedly to have supper, only to find they have little appetite for the cheese on the table... 　　 This film won the 1941 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
